Job Summary

Minor Entertainment are looking for an experienced, friendly and team spirited ASM for this years tour across the UK and Ireland. The tour is generally split week touring playing up to 2 venues per week.

Job Description

The Assistant Stage Manager will have a backstage and onstage track that will involve appearance in costume. The role includes all the traditional duties and responsibilities of a touring ASM including a short Get-In, Get-Out and maintenance of props and puppets.

Contract Dates:
Rehearsals in Croydon: Monday 11th -Saturday 18th May 2026
Tech Week: wc25th May 2026
End of Contract: Sunday 20th September 2026
*Irish Dates for which a valid UK passport is required: 3rd -11th June 2026

Job Requirements

Essential:
Professional experience as an Assistant Stage Manager.
Strong Communication Skills
Confidence to appear onstage in costume.
Confidence to work independently and as part of a team.
Personable; keen to integrate and support a friendly, mutually supportive work culture on tour.

Desirable
Experience of Touring.
Strong Organisational and Communication Skills
Confidence to work independently and as part of a team.
Interest and experience of Puppet Maintenance.

Job Responsibilities

Assist the load in and out of the rehearsal room.
Assist with prop/costume and set maintenance.
Learn show track which will require you to appear onstage in costume and perform some basic puppetry as directed and trained by the Director.
Learn your offstage track which will require handling props, assisting with scene and costume changes and supporting the skin performers.
Assist with the load in and out of each tour venue which may include working with other departments such as Lighting, Sound or Merchandise.
Run your track on and off stage. For this you will appear onstage in costume.
Pre-set and reset props and equipment for the performance.
Assist in keeping show paperwork up to date.
Ensure the backstage areas are kept tidy and safe throughout.
Assist in ensuring a good working relationship between the production and each tour venue.
