Description

Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Associate Director to join Attic on a fixed-term basis. The Associate Director will lead the newly established Attic Youth Theatre and play a key role in delivering our large-scale community production, Merton Odyssey, working closely with the Attic team.

Job Description

The Associate Director will be tasked with directing three of the six plays, while supporting Attic's Artistic Director, Tom Bellerby, in developing the themes and narrative flow of all six productions to ensure a cohesive thread runs through the pieces.
The six performances will take place over six weekends during summer 2027, where intensive rehearsals on Friday night and Saturday culminate in a Sunday performance. For each show, a locally based Associate Artist and participating community members will form a key part of that town's story, while a professional actor will provide a thread of consistency weaving the narratives together. These Associate Artists will span a variety of artforms.
