Description

Job Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Associate Visual Artist, company or a partnership of up to two artists, to join our team on a freelance basis to help us to develop, shape and deliver visual arts led projects in the community.

Job Description

The Associate Artist/s will work across a range of projects, collaborating closely with our team of Creative Producers to engage Kirklees residents and groups in community-based projects, leading to high production value public presentations.

We expect the Associate Artist to begin working with us early in January 2025. We have some exciting possibilities coming up, including a partnership with Bagshaw Museum in Batley, workshops, exhibitions and events in Meanwhile Spaces (empty shops) in Dewsbury, Climate Caf events around the borough, a youth led festival and more!

This will be a freelance contract, with an agreed schedule of days to be worked around our key projects. We anticipate up to 2 days per week per artist, with more at busier times. Our rates range from £190-250 per day, depending on experience and extend of the contract.

The contract will include a combination of direct delivery work, project development time with Creative Producers and project /workshop planning.

The contract will be offered, initially on a 3 months basis- Jan- March 2025, and can be extended, if mutually agreeable.
