Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced puppeteer with excellent storytelling abilities for The Point’s annual interactive storyworld aimed at under 5 year olds, their families and caregivers in January 2026.

Job Description

We are looking for a female identifying puppeteer who is able to portray multiple characters including 'August' an energetic young platypus and 'Mrs Pouch' the wombat, a teacher nearing retirement.

  • Be a versatile, energetic puppeteer
  • Confident with verbal puppetry performance - can multi-role and sing
  • Confident to interact with an audience and able to manage a very young audience and able to keep them engaged
  • Good level of physical fitness & movement skills
  • Confident and resilient to perform and puppeteer solo

Must be available:

Auditions: Friday 21st November

Rehearsals: Tuesday 13th - Fri 16th January

6.5 hours on rehearsal days = 26 hours

Performances: Saturday 17th - Friday 31st January (no shows Sundays)

6 hours on performance days = 78 hours

Total working hours: 156 hours

Inclusive fee: £2405 (including holiday pay and per diem)
