We are looking for new members to join our Front of House Team. The Bar Supervisor is a key member of the team, delivering outstanding customer service to audiences visiting our theatre spaces.
We are looking for new members to join our Front of House Team. The Bar Supervisor is a key member of the team, delivering outstanding customer service to audiences visiting our theatre spaces. Working with the Food & Beverage Manager, they will take a hands-on role in managing and motivating the bar team during performances and events, ensuring smooth operations and excellent service.
Part-time permanent contract. Flexible working hours with an average of 20 hours per week. Evening and weekend work required.
Please note we would be happy to hear from you if you would be interested in doing a full-time role combining the Bar Supervisor and Duty Manager roles (up to 39 hours per week total).
Essential:
- Experience of working in a customer facing hospitality role
- Barista experience
- An articulate communicator, with good literacy and numeracy skills
- Ability and confidence in managing a diverse team, treating differing views with discretion and diplomacy
- Proactive and flexible attitude, particularly in the approach to working hours and duties
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Experience of cashing up / dealing with the reconciliation of monies
- Ability to work calmly under pressure, make decision in the moment, and problem solve
- A confident approach with a 'can do' attitude
- Level 2 Food Safety and Hygiene
- Flexible, adaptable, and positive
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
Desirable:
- An interest in the arts and/or experience of working in a theatre
- Level 3 Food Safety and Hygiene
- First Aid qualification (training can be provided)
- Knowledge of licensing.
- Overseeing bar and caf operations
- Leading the casual Front of House team.
- Contributing to good team morale, encouraging and motivating all Front of House staff to perform at their best.
- Supporting the Food & Beverage Manager to identify training and development needs, and areas for improvement.
- Adhering to the theatre's Health & Safety policy and reporting any relevant issues.
- Supporting delivery of income targets as agreed with the F&B Manager by implementing strategies to increase sales.
- Making sure all Front of House equipment is serviced, maintained and clean.
- Alongside the theatre management team, controlling the finances of Front of House sales as required, including managing cash floats, cashing up and adhering to Exeter Northcott financial policies/procedures.
