About the Role:
SMA operates over 30 Saturdays of the academic year (during term time) from Birkdale Senior School, S10 3DE. Concerts take place outside the normal teaching timetable, and staff are encouraged to attend to support their ensembles and all SMA young people.
- Rate of Pay: £42.50/hour

Conservatoire training in bassoon.
Proven experience teaching bassoon to young people of various ages and stages, including beginners.
Confidence working in 1:1, groups and ensembles settings, both in leading and supporting roles.
A passion for fostering young people to be their best, with experience helping them to develop both technically and artistically.
A proactive, can-do attitude with a focus on delivering excellence, while maintaining a professional approach to all aspects of the role.
Professional attitude towards safeguarding, promoting best practice at all opportunities.Job Responsibilities
Inspiring young people to fulfil their potential through rewarding and engaging learning.
Confidently introducing beginners to the bassoon and supporting their early musical development.
Supporting small wind ensembles by encouraging students, offering help as required, and ensuring groups remain focused and engaged.
Delivering sectional rehearsals that challenge and develop senior SMA students participating in Concert Band and/or Chamber Orchestra.
Promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment to encourage young musicians to take up the bassoon.
Availability to work 30 Saturdays per academic year in Sheffield.
