Job Summary

Detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our team and support the Finance Manager with a variety of tasks.

Job Description

This role is critical in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring smooth financial operations, and providing essential support for budgeting and financial planning. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of bookkeeping principles, experience with accounts payable/receivable, and familiarity with charity-specific accounting regulations.

£20,800 - £22,400 (0.8) depending on experience (£26,000 - £28,000 full time equivalent)

Annual leave entitlement of 33 days (pro rata), including bank holidays (Some days need to be taken at specified times during the year)

This post is offered at part time, 29.5 hours per week. The hours can be worked over a flexible pattern. Permanent role, subject to a 6-month probationary period.

Job Requirements

Proven experience in bookkeeping and accounting, particularly with accounts payable and receivable.

Proficiency with accounting software, particularly QuickBooks and Dext, please note this in your application.

Solid understanding of Microsoft Excel including advance features and data analysis.

Attained a financial qualification, or working towards one, e.g. AAT level 2.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with colleagues, customers, and suppliers.

Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate financial records.

Familiarity with charity-specific accounting regulations and experience in the nonprofit sector is an advantage.

Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude.

A willingness to undertake appropriate training.

Energy and enthusiasm to be part of a small team.
