We are seeking a friendly and welcoming Box Office Supervisor to lead our ticketing and room hire operations and help us create unforgettable experiences for our visitors.

Harrow Arts Centre is a busy theatre, arts and community complex with over 250,000 visitors each year. We are currently recruiting for a Box Office Supervisor to join our team as sickness cover on a full time basis for 12 months.

The ability to hit the ground running, learn processes fast, and handle a varying workload including weekend and bank holiday work is vital. In return we are offering a competitive package, flexible working opportunities, and the chance to be involved in a lively community hub.

The successful candidate will lead a small team who are the face of the Arts Centre to hirers and the public, providing outstanding customer care. With excellent communication skills and a love of working with people, you will work with a diverse range of community groups, organisations and individuals dealing with all enquiries and being responsible for ticketing, room and resource booking/hiring systems and procedures for Harrow Arts Centre.

Job Requirements

To demonstrate knowledge of back office and front office systems (ideally Artifax and Spektrix) appropriate for an arts venue and related to ticket sales and commercial hires best practice.

To have experience of managing a small team of people including the ability to organise rotas and shift systems

To demonstrate an awareness of the importance of customer care, being responsive and considerate of customer needs and dealing effectively with a wide range of clients, partners and other stakeholders.

To have experience of accurate data input and calculations relating to handling cash, card payments and cheques with appropriate record keeping and secure practices.

Job Responsibilities

Develop and administer the space for hire and commercial bookings at Harrow Arts Centre to contribute to income generation targets.

To be the lead contact and point of reference with hirers dealing with bookings for performances, conference, events and functions.

Use Artifax to maximise venue and space usage to agreed protocols and oversee processing and timetabling of individual and block bookings from the initial pre-booking enquiry stages, to the final payment and completion of the booking process and procedures after the final date of the booking.

Manage, support and train two box office assistants to ensure a high level of customer care undertaking pro-active sales and dealing with enquiries from the public in person, by telephone or by email.

Financial administration including account statements, banking and daily reconciliation.
