Job Description

Are you 18-25 years old, live in Ealing and are passionate about culture?

Do you want to develop your creativity and explore new collaborations?

Ealing Council is delighted to announce the Bradford Ealing Creative Exchange, an opportunity to exchange and collaborate with Bradford City of Cultures Young Creatives programme, supported by Arts Council England.

Bradford 2025 UK City of Culture will be one of the biggest arts festivals in the world, with over 1,000 new performances and events across music, visual arts, theatre, film, museums, street art, libraries, photography, craft and far beyond. The year-long programme includes a Young Creatives programme, that places young residents at the heart of Bradford's cultural activity for the year.

For the Bradford Ealing Creative Exchange, we are looking for eight young people from across the borough of Ealing to take part in a unique development programme. You will visit Bradford, where you will meet cultural organisations and experience Bradford's City of Culture programme, followed by Bradford's young creatives joining us in Ealing for our New Gen Festival and cultural programming. You will also participate in an online programme, with artist talks and development opportunities.

The Exchange trips will involve visits, workshops and talks, as well as time for you to network and experience Bradford and Ealing's rich cultural landscapes. In Bradford, you will get to experience the range of Bradford's City of Culture programming, as well as sessions with the UNESCO City of Film team, the National Science & Media Museum, Bradford Museums & Galleries and the Bronte Parsonage. In Ealing, we are partnering with Pitzhanger Manor and Gallery, Gunnersbury Park Museum, Park Royal Design District, Ealing Film Festival, New Gen Festival and the University of West London.

Job Requirements

What is the point of the programme? To build on existing skills, experiences and networks for young people with cultural organisations locally and in Bradford, and inspire creative projects for the young people of Ealing.

When are the Exchange trips? The exchange trip to Bradford will take place 9-13 June. The exchange trip in Ealing will take place in late July/early August (exact dates TBC).

Will I be creating new work? Yes -you will take part in a series of creative workshops during the Exchange trips, including a workshop with the Huntley Archives at Gunnersbury Park Museum and a Podcasting session at the University of West London - where you will work with your peers, exchange ideas and create a portfolio of work.
