Round in Circles is seeking a professional male actor-dancer (or strong dance lead of any gender) with experience in performing and teaching Ballroom, Latin and Swing to join us for a series of exciting, funded projects and performance opportunities. We produce spellbinding Tea Dances, immersive social dance events, and innovative dance-theatre and dance-for-camera work. We're now looking for a skilled collaborator to join our creative team - someone passionate about movement, theatrical storytelling, and connection through dance. The role includes performing routines at social dance events, teaching steps to audience members at events and workshops and hosting the events as a social dance lead. This is a paid opportunity, with scope for ongoing collaboration including festival gigs, creative R&D, and workshops. Work is offered on a freelance basis, performance days are usually paid at £200 per day, with an occasional community/charity local gig rate of £120. There are 3 performances confirmed for the current season, with more expected. These will be paid at a minimum of £120 per day, and a maximum of £200 per day (1 day being maximum 8 hours of combined crewing and performing, usually less), dependent on experience. Rehearsals are also expected, paid at £50 per half day rehearsal (4 hours), or £100 per full day (8 hours incl break). Expenses are covered in addition. Essential experience: Desirable: Rehearse and perform Ballroom, Latin, Swing, and Charleston routines with company dance partners and small troupes. Host Tea Dance events by leading social dances with audience members, helping to create a warm and inclusive atmosphere. Contribute to workshops and events through occasional teaching opportunities.
