Job Summary

As part of the delivery of our Culture Strategy Our People, Our Culture, Our Future , the Royal Borough of Greenwich is creating a new free to join network open to local cultural organisations, institutions, businesses and freelancers who want to join a collaborative network.

Job Description

We are seeking an individual with deep knowledge and strong connections to the Royal Borough and its cultural sectors. Someone who can grasp the opportunities and challenges relevant to our diverse residents and communities.
Previous senior leadership experience is not essential. We are committed to diversity and keen to support applicants from diverse backgrounds in developing their skills in line with our Culture Strategy, ensuring everyone can contribute to our shared vision for culture.
For this role a fee of £50 per hour attendance allowance is payable to freelancers, self-employed, and unwaged up to a limit of £350 per meeting including preparation and travel time. We anticipate there will be 4 meetings a year. There is scope for additional time to lead on workshops and sector events as the network develops.

Job Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership
- Lead the vision for the network, setting its direction, agenda and actions including sector facing events to achieve the network's goals of fostering creativity, promoting collaboration and partnerships.
- Oversee the network's budget, ensuring funds are used effectively and responsibly.

Representation and External Engagement

- Act as the public face of the network, advocating for the creative and cultural sector in Royal Greenwich and representing it to the council's Culture Partners Board, Committees and external stakeholders.
- Facilitate collaboration among members and build relationships with new members and external organizations. Working cooperatively ensuring members needs are met and foster a powerful sense of community within the network.

Job Responsibilities

Experience

- Leadership skills and experiences required to develop and support the network.
- Deep knowledge of the local area and excellent connections within the creative and cultural sector.
- Practical experience arranging meetings where various voices are supported and encouraged to contribute.
- Creative, cultural, heritage or community sector experience is essential.
