Job Summary

Collections Trust, a small - but influential - NPO that helps museums work with their collections, seeks its next Chief Executive. Do you have the vision and skills to take this dynamic and ambitious organisation to the next level? Permanent F/T, working from home. £75,000 per annum.

Job Description

Collections Trust has a unique place in the museum landscape and a distinctive mission: to help museums work with the information that connects audiences and collections. We're an Investment Principle Support Organisation within the ACE National Portfolio. Every Accredited museum in the UK uses our collections management standard, Spectrum, as do many others around the world. And having helped to found the Museum Data Service, we've an exciting few years ahead as we use it to transform the way we all work with museum collections.

As our current Chief Executive prepares to step down after nearly ten years in the role, we are looking for a proven leader, with deep experience and understanding of the UK museum and heritage sector, to take the helm. The Chief Executive is responsible for the overall leadership, management, and operation of the charity, working closely with the board of trustees, staff, and stakeholders. The role is pivotal in shaping the future of Collections Trust, ensuring we continue to develop as a dynamic, ambitious sector support organisation, valued around the world as a leader in collections management standards and advice.

Note that Collections Trust no longer has a central office, and all staff work remotely from home. However, the Chief Executive will need to be based in, and have the right to work in, the UK.
