Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced, organised and positive holiday camp art facilitator to run one of our Tower Hamlets branches from the summer throughout the year for 4 - 11 years olds.

Job Description

The Art Imaginairum is an art & circus holiday camp for children in Hackney for children aged 5 - 11 years old. It is a fun filled week of creativity, play, circus and lots of art and crafting.

We are looking for someone to lead our Tower Hamlets or Hackney site. This would include work throughout the year for all the holidays and half terms. We are hoping to find someone for a more long-term basis so they feel confident to lead the site solo.

Timings: 8 - 5.30pm

Pay: 18ph

3rd - 7th August

10th - 14th August

24th - 28th August

We are looking for someone with lots of experience of leading workshops/ classes/ birthday parties and would feel confident and comfortable with leading different art activities with around 35 children. Ideally you would have an up-to-date enhanced DBS.

It's a great addition of work for anyone who works part time/ is an artist and looking for extra income. The workshops are busy but really fun and the children make some amazing things!

Job Requirements

Experienced in arts & crafts.

Several years experiences in running children's workshops, classes or birthday party with large numbers of 5 - 11 year olds.

Energetic, organised and confident.

Positive and encouraging of the children.

Awareness of safe guarding/ first aid training when working with children.

Able to multitask and think one step ahead.

Good at delegating task to other staff members.

Able to be patient and remain calm.

Job Responsibilities

Welcoming the children in each day and signing them in and signing them out.
Facilitating all the craft activities and talking through each of the steps.

Preparing for the next craft that needs to be made.

Tidying us after the children and making the space clear for the next day.

Liaising and delegating with the assistants to help you prepare things.

Logging and managing any injuries or safe guarding issues.

Managing staff and making sure they are staying on task.

Being first aid trained and safe guarding trained (or willing to invest the time in doing the training)

Being one of 3 safe guarding leads on site.

Liaising with parents and feeding back any issues during the day.
