Job Requirements
A relevant music degree, ideally gained at a music conservatoire (or similar)
A passion for pedagogy, with an ability to inspire and motivate the students
Experience of teaching children age 5+ and adults alike
Ability to teach piano from beginner to diploma level
Strong track record in preparing students for grade exams (ABRSM/Trinity)
Excellent sight-reading skills to read complex musical scores
Be able to harmonise by ear to support warm-ups/exercises
Good professional performing experience
Energetic, punctual, organised, and able to work as part of a team
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Experience in the Kod ly approach, or willingness to learn in order to incorporate some elements in your teaching
Relevant safeguarding training
Saturdays, during term time only, until 3rd July 2027. Term dates available on our website.Job Responsibilities
- 2 hours of accompanying children's choirs on Saturdays (between 9am and 11am). There might be additional work available on an occasional basis.
- 2 hours of 1-to-1 piano lessons (between 12pm and 2pm)
Self-employed position (34 weeks service contract, renewable).

Enhanced DBS (Criminal Record check) is compulsory.
Accompanist rate: £37/hour
One-to-one lessons rate: £42.25/hour
