We are seeking a passionate, skilled, and inspiring Choir Leader to lead and develop our choir. The ideal candidate will have a strong musical background, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to foster a sense of community within the group.
The Crewe Lyceum Theatre Choir meets every Tuesday from 7:30 PM to 9:30 PM during term time. The choir consists of 20-25 members aged 16 and over, with a focus on performing songs from Musical Theatre.
Key Responsibilities
- Rehearsal Management: Plan and lead regular rehearsals, ensuring a productive, engaging, and enjoyable environment for choir members.
- Music Selection and Arrangement: Choose repertoire that suits the choir's skill level and aligns with the organization's mission and events. Arrange or adapt music when necessary.
- Performance Preparation: Prepare the choir for live performances, including concerts, religious services, community events, or competitions.
- Vocal Coaching: Provide guidance on vocal technique, harmony, dynamics, and expression to help members enhance their singing skills.
- Team Building: Foster a supportive and inclusive culture within the choir, encouraging participation, commitment, and collaboration among members.
RATE OF PAY - 2 hours per week during term time. £30 per hour
NI & TAX - The successful applicant must be registered as self-employed and is fully responsible for paying all relevant contributions to HMRC.
