The Bonhoeffer Choir is the German community choir attached to the Dietrich Bonhoeffer Church in Sydenham. A friendly and welcoming group of singers aged 35-65, we have built a solid repertoire of mostly classical songs, both a cappella and with piano accompaniment. They are also always up for new challenges, performing mostly in Sydenham or neighbouring parishes in and around London. We meet Mondays at 19:45 - 21:45 in Forest Hill, London. A familiarity with German language and culture is preferential, but not required. The pay rate is £75 per rehearsal and £120 per performance. This results in an hourly wage of at least £37.5/h We are looking for applicants with a joy and passion for choral music and experience in participating in choirs as a singer, accompanist, composer or as an arranger of music for SATB with a commitment to helping us reach our full potential. Conduct a weekly choir rehearsal (of no more than 2 hours) using the school calendar as a guide to months worked. The choir breaks for all half-terms, Christmas, Easter and Summer holidays. Lead, and help organize, up to 5 public performances per annum, including helping to choose a repertoire and, optionally, accompanying the choir on the piano or organ.
