Clay and Pottery Tutor

40 hours / 52 weeks

Salary: £29,215 - £36,896

Application Deadline Tuesday 14th October

Interviews will take place week commencing Monday 20th October

We are seeking to appoint a committed, enthusiastic and professional Potter to create a production line from sourcing the raw clay from the ground, refining and working with the clay to making items of services which can be sold in the school shop and shops across the Trust. To offer a therapeutic outdoor and indoor learning environment which involves a workshop that is placed outside in the school grounds and sustainably built.

In order to be successful in this role you must be able to demonstrate:

  • Significant experience as a pottery practitioner in the subject area
  • Experience of working with children and young people within school/residential care (Ofsted & Independent School Standards) ideally with severe learning disabilities and profound autistic spectrum disorder.
  • To be able to work creatively and sensitively with children and young people with severe learning disabilities
  • Have a good working knowledge of the monitoring, assessment, recording and reporting of children and young people.
  • A High level of personal resilience
  • Ability to deliver educational activities in a manner which is stimulating, engaging, enjoyable and enthusiastic
