Job Summary

We are seeking a warm, knowledgeable and experienced Finance and Operations specialist to co-lead Everyday into the next phase of its development. This is an opportunity to make a big impact within a joyful and creative arts organisation, playing a key part in the Wigan area.

Job Description

Applications are open for a new role within our team with a focus on Finance and Operations, who will also share responsibility for the leadership and strategic direction of Everyday alongside the Co-Director (Partnerships and Projects). Our Co-leadership roles are designed to have separate day-to-day responsibilities, but with shared responsibility for the vision and financial sustainability of the organisation as a whole. This 'dual' approach to co-leadership typically involves 40-70% shared decisions and duties.

The two leadership roles are defined as:

- Co-Director (Operations and Finance), 3 days a week (0.75)*
Hours may be increased to 4 days in the future, if desired, and funding is secured.
- Co-Director (Creative Partnerships and Projects) 4 days a week (1)

Everyday operates with a flexible 4 day working week.

The Co-Director (Operations and Finance) will focus on leading on:

- Ensuring thoughtful consideration and planning around spaces, assets, premises and venues needed to fulfil our long term vision
- Financial management, day-to-day operations and grant management
- Ensuring grant compliance and funding requirements are met
- Responsible for Health and Safety, and oversight of Safeguarding policy and practice
- Oversight and development of administration, data, monitoring, communications and IT systems
- Policy development and implementation.
- Risk management.
- Ensuring up to date governance, legal and contractual compliance, including understanding of different charitable structures

Job Requirements

Essential:

- Experience of successful leadership in a senior role, ideally within a not-for-profit organisation and/or within the cultural sector.
- Experience of successful organisational change management.
- Experience of managing happy, effective teams.
- A strong commitment to inclusivity in the workplace, particularly an understanding of neurodivergence.
- Understanding of financial controls and monitoring, and use of online accounting systems.
- Experience in managing organisational budgets, including restricted grant funding.
- Good knowledge of key principles and practice of employment law and HR best practice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, Safeguarding, Health and Safety.

Job Responsibilities

Key Role Responsibilities:

- Financial management, day-to-day operations and grant management.
- Oversight and development of administration and IT systems.
- Ensuring up to date governance, legal and contractual compliance.

Key Shared Leadership Responsibilities:

- Development and delivery of Everyday's strategic vision and mission.
- Organisational sustainability through fundraising and income generation.
- Team management, providing direction and support to team members and managing HR processes.
