Collections Audit Officer Reporting to: Head of Collections and Research Main purpose of role To ensure the accuracy, integrity and documentation of Charleston's museum collection through a comprehensive audit and inspection process. In preparation for the relocation of Charleston's 15,000-item archive collection from Firle to the new Lewes site, the Collections Audit Officer will lead on verifying object records, maintaining inventory systems, and ensuring compliance with museum policies, sector standards and legal requirements. This role is made possible with funding from the National Lottery Heritage Fund. Thanks to National Lottery players, we will be able to develop our long term plans for Charleston in Lewes to create a permanent cultural centre for the town including the establishment of the National Bloomsbury Gallery. Salary: £26,100- £29,600 (pro rata)
Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Location: Primarily based at Charleston in Firle (BN8 6LL), with some work also required at Charleston in Lewes (BN7 1FB).
We are looking for someone with strong organisational skills, an eye for detail, and an interest in collections care and documentation. You don't need to have worked in a museum before - transferable skills and a willingness to learn are just as important. The successful candidate will be responsible for the line management of a series of interns over the course of the project.Job Requirements
