Description
Your aim will be to lead on generating and growing our income across multiple revenue streams, and meeting agreed KPI's. These income streams include: Private Tours and Venue Hire; Retail; Partnership Events, and; Sponsors and Business Members.
Private Tours and Venue Hire:
- Being reactive to enquiries, and proactive through research, expand the Museum's clients for private tours and venue hire;
- Maintaining a database of current and prospective clients;
- manage the booking, staffing and delivery of private tours and venue hire for external clients;
- Liaising with our Visitor Experience Coordinator, ensure that private tours and venue hires are staffed accordingly with Welcome Team staff and volunteers.
Retail:
- Ensure the museum shop is managed to high standards of presentation;
- Ensure compliance for any alcohol or food stocked;
- Ensure stock (both instore and online) is exciting and relevant, with excellent margins, and that stock levels are maintained, and an online fulfillment processed;
- New product line development, and building relationships with current and potential suppliers;
- Support the Visitor Experience team on delivering a high standard of customer service.
Partnership Events:
- Working with current and prospective retail suppliers, curate a programme of supplier focused events for the Queer Britain community that offers interactive and engaging content, whilst bringing Queer led businesses and products directly to the community.
Sponsors and Business Members:
- Support the Chief Executive in the activation of sponsorship events with a range of businesses that support the museum.
Care Responsibilities:
- All staff members are responsible for care of objects on display, as well as care for public and operational spaces, visitors, volunteers and other team members, at all times.
Our ideal candidate would:
- Have experience of a retail and/or cultural environment;
- Have business acumen and an understanding of retail trends and buyer behaviour;
- A creative mindset with experience of visual merchandising;
- Be able to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders;
- Have the ability to work both independently and collaboratively;
- Be committed to their own professional development and willing to share these knowledge, skills and experience;
- Be an excellent communicator who is confident with technology.
The normal hours will be from 10am to 6pm, although evening and weekend work will be necessary - we operate a time off in lieu policy. You will get 28 days per year holiday, plus bank holidays.
The salary is £34,650 plus NEST pension and you will report to the CEO.
