Job Summary

Harewood House Trust is seeking a part time Community Engagement Coordinator, whose role will be pivotal to strengthen Harewood's connections with local communities, whilst widening access for new and under-served audiences.

Job Description

Salary: £11,200 per annum/ pro rated from £28,000 per annum

Hours : 16 hours per week, ideally worked over 3 days, however open to discussion.

Harewood House Trust are seeking an experienced Community Engagement Coordinator to join our team and strengthen our local community connections, whilst widening access for new and under-served audiences.

Key Results Areas:

  • Build and strenghen Harewood's links within local communities.
  • Develop and deliver a programme of community centred projects at Harewood, including on site workshops, group visits, outreach sessions and community events.
  • Play a part in promoting our Access+ ticket, which is low cost admission for individuals under certain eligibility who would otherwise face barriers to visiting Harewood House.
  • Promote and manager Harewood's Community Access Membership, our new low cost membership for charitable organisations.
  • Establish a database of community links and create a network of community organisations who actively engage with Harewood.
  • Undertake research and development work to inform future projects and to understand local communities and their needs.
  • Support the development of a long term Audience Development Strategy for Harewood.
  • Work closely with our Reimagining our Landscape project team and support the delivery of focus groups and research with our community partners.
  • Produce effective reporting and statistical information on community engagement to support evaluation and future projects.
  • Be an advocate for Harewood and a champion for access and inclusion - remove barriers for entry.
  • Manage and track budgets for the community engagement programme.
  • Work with our Marketing & Audiences team to ensure community engagement programmes are successfully promoted.
  • Uphold Harewood's values and adhere to all Trust Policies and procedures.

Job Requirements

The Community Engagement Coordinator will have proven experience of community and engagement work in the field and be an excellent communicator with the ability to adapt depending on the audience.

It is essential that the postholder, has the ability to build and maintain meaningful relationships and can research, identify, contact and liaise with external stakeholders.

The Community Engagement Office will be able to manage their time effectively and be equally as good with people, as the documentation side of the role.

Experience of monitoring and evaluating projects would be an advantage and a full, clean UK Driver's licence is required for the role as the Community Engagement Coordinator will be required to meet up externally with local communities and groups.

The postholder will be required to undertake an enhanced DBS check which will be paid for by Harewood House Trust.

Job Responsibilities

The Community Engagement Coordinator is responsible for primarily building and strengthening the existing links that Harewood already has with local communities.

  • To develop and deliver a programme of community-centred projects at Harewood, including on site workshops, group visits, outreach sessions and community events.
  • Play a key part in promoting our Access+ ticket, our low admission ticket introduced for individuals who would usually not be able to visit Harewood House due to cost reasons.
  • Promote and manage Harewood's Community Access Membership, which is our new low cost membership for charitable organisations, which represent under-served groups and deliver membership benefits to members.
  • Establish a database of community links and create a network of community organisations who actively engage with Harewood House Trust.
  • Undertake research and development work to inform future projects and to understand local communities and their needs,.
