A Community Engagement Manager who is inspired by heritage and creativity and can lead on building relationships and developing community networks. The role will strategically develop intergenerational creative learning programmes and school learning workshops to inspire cand build connections.

Job Description

Our Community Engagement Manager will become a well-known connector of communities across the borough. A creative, ambitious, and motivated individual, we are seeking a Community Engagement Manager who can build trust across networks, who will listen to what communities need and support them to achieve it. From under 5s sessions in village halls to creative dance workshops in the museum for families, we are looking for an individual who is inspired by heritage and finds joy in helping communities to celebrate their stories and feel proud of where they live.

We are seeking a community minded individual to develop new intergenerational family programmes, co-create with schools and work collaboratively with artists. Someone who can instil passion and confidence across our communities, work with funders to unlock support for a wide range of activities and manage a range of competing demands. Our new Community Engagement Manager will be responsible for supporting the formal schools learning programme, building a network of schools to ensure relevance and inclusivity.

Job Requirements

The Community Engagement Manager will have:

  • Knowledge, experience and understanding of diverse communities and the networks and partners that engage and support them
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build trust and develop long term relationships with communities and collaborators.
  • Knowledge and experience of developing and implementing learning and audience development programmes in a cultural setting
  • Proven experience and track record of managing budgets and developing successful funding bids
  • Proven experience and track record of managing staff
  • Experience of project management in relation to engagement, learning and audience development
  • Experience in delivery of excellent customer service in a fast paced and high-volume working environment

Job Responsibilities

  • Responsibility for the development, implementation and management of community engagement and audience development strategies across the service
  • The management and development of a high quality formal learning programme which is co-created with schools to ensure relevance and inclusivity.
  • Fostering authentic partnerships and long term relationships with key communities of interest to increase opportunities for participation and engagement
  • Overseeing the development of co-created intergenerational family learning programmes working collaboratively with creatives, communities and partners.
  • Developing and implementing strategies for understanding audiences and measuring impact to inform programe development.
  • Responsibility for the development of community management models and volunteers programmes at the heritage sites to increase access and opportunity.
