Community Supporter: Jury for Joy

Help local voices shape creative events in West Cumbria

Fee: £1,200 for approx. 6 days (April-June 2025)
Main dates: Sat 31 May & Sun 1 June (Jury for Joy weekend)

What's the role about?

We're looking for a friendly and supportive person to join our Jury for Joy team - a group of local people who help decide what arts and cultural events happen in West Cumbria.

As a Community Supporter, your job is to help make the Jury weekend feel welcoming, joyful, and inclusive. You'll work with our team to make sure everyone feels heard, respected, and confident to share their ideas.

Job Requirements

This role is for someone who:

  • Enjoys talking with people and making them feel at home
  • Believes in fairness, creativity, and community
  • Might have experience in support work, arts, or just being a good listener
  • Knows or cares about West Cumbria
  • Wants to grow and learn (you'll get training too!)

Job Responsibilities

What you'll do:

  • Help run a fun and meaningful weekend in West Cumbria (Saturday 31 May 31 & Sunday 1 June)
  • Support conversations in small groups
  • Help people feel included, especially those new to this kind of work
  • Be part of a creative, caring team
  • Share your thoughts to help improve the project after the event
