Sector and market insight and horizon scanning To carry out conservation on items in the archive and local studies collections, following the Five Year Conservation Plan To survey the archives and local studies collections, devise an appropriate conservation strategy ensuring that environmental conditions are maintained within the specific sector standards. To maintain detailed records of work undertaken (using a computer database and relevant software such as CALM) both internally and externally, and review recording systems as necessary. To liaise with Archivists and Local Studies colleagues on preservation issues relating to the overall physical condition of the archives and local studies collections. To be responsible for the conservation studio and equipment.
