Contract: Permanent. Part time, 4 days per week, including work at evening and weekend events. (We are open to discussing flexible working arrangements)

Salary: £32,000 - £36,000 pro rata per annum

Quentin Blake Centre for Illustration will open to the public in spring 2026. We are looking for a creative, collaborative and illustration-informed producer to connect adult audiences with illustration. They will produce a new programme of content, talks, courses and projects that energises the Centre.

As Content and Programme Producer, you will devise and deliver an ambitious programme that responds to the Centre's projects and new developments in illustration practice. The programme will support exploratory practice, platform new insight on historic and contemporary illustration, and support inclusive creative communities to form and develop.

Job Requirements

Essential skills and experience

  • Understanding of contemporary illustration practice across a range of fields
  • Audience focused with a creative approach to engagement
  • Experience delivering high quality arts experiences for public audiences
  • Experience supporting creatives to design and deliver public-facing events or projects
  • Strong commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion, and understanding of barriers to participation in the creative industries
  • Understanding of how to balance commercial and public engagement objectives through programming
  • Strong project and relationship management skills
  • Flexible approach to problem solving
  • Experience of managing staff for events, including delivering briefings, and assigning tasks
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, with excellent written English and visual literacy
  • IT skills, including proficiency in Word, Powerpoint and Excel

Job Responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities:

  • devise an ambitious, distinctive and inclusive programme that aligns with the Centre's strategic framework and responds to new developments in illustration practice
  • establish and maintain relationships with partners, including illustrators and organisations
  • ensure that the programme represents a range of perspectives and responds to illustration practices across different fields, including popular forms and innovative new practices
  • ensure that programme content and formats align with the interests and needs of target audience groups
  • maintain high standards for access, evolving planning, content and formats according to consultation and sector best practice
  • manage budgets in line with forecasted expenditure
  • meet income generation targets for ticketed events
  • ensure that ticketed events are competitive within the London events market in terms of pricing, content and audience experience
