Job Summary

Insane Root Theatre is seeking a dedicated and experienced Costume Supervisor to help source, make and maintain the cast costume for our site-specific production of Henry V, which features an all-female/non-binary cast. Wardrobe Supervisor required 27th May - 20th July.

Job Description

Roles and responsibilities

  • Working in collaboration with the Designer to conduct fittings for the cast members to ensure that costumes fit properly and make adjustments as needed.
  • Keeping track of all costumes, accessories, and props, ensuring everything is accounted for before, during, and after each performance.
  • Working closely with the costume designer to understand the artistic vision and ensuring that the costumes reflect the time period and character development in "Henry V."
  • Overseeing the cleaning, repair, and storage of costumes to ensure they are presented in the best possible condition.
  • Being present during dress rehearsals and performances to handle any last-minute costume changes, ensuring that everything runs smoothly.
  • Work alongside the Technical team to ensure costume changes do not interfere with radio mics.

Fee:

£575 per week (8 week freelance contract - total fee £4600)

Hours:

hours will vary due to the nature of the job but will not exceed 35 hours per week.

Dates:

27th May - 20th July. Please note that attendance for Production week (16th - 21st June) is essential.

Job Requirements

Who we are looking for

  • Proven professional experience as a Wardrobe Supervisor or a similar role within the theatre or performing arts industry.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams.
  • A passion for theatre and a deep understanding of production processes and best practices.
  • Ideally local to the Bristol area or with a base in or nearby
