In a new chapter for Fio, we are creating a senior leadership structure that is more suited to the small size of the company. We are looking for a Creative Director to lead the company into its next phase. The person we are looking for will need a strong creative background and will be responsible for re-setting our artistic vision, within the context of our multi-year funding agreement with Arts Council Wales. They will create and maintain an exciting and innovative programme rather than directing productions themselves. At the same time, they will manage the company, providing strong leadership and ensuring robust policies and processes are in place. They will understand the importance of meeting stakeholder needs and having a meaningful and timely reporting structure. We are a small team at Fio, with big ambitions and a strong track-record of delivering high quality productions and community engagement activity that empowers culturally diverse voices from under-represented backgrounds. Therefore, an understanding of the landscape of the Global Majority arts sector in Wales, and the desire to both establish and steer an inclusive organisation is key to this role, and for that reason a collaborative instinct and generosity of spirit are essential qualities we are seeking. The closing date for applications is 10am on Monday 14th of July 2025. Leadership and Vision The fresh vision, imagination, ambition and passion to lead Fio into its next phase, and the ability to communicate the vision, inspiring and motivating stakeholders, staff and creative personnel. Arts Management Ability to run an arts-based business or charity, demonstrated by the successful use of at least three of the following techniques and processes. Experienced Practitioner A track record of excellent and innovative work in the creative arts (ideally theatre). Productive and wide-ranging contacts in the theatre and wider arts sector. Experience of using best practice in artist development and outreach programmes. Diversity and Inclusion A genuine and demonstrable commitment to broadening cultural diversity. OBJECTIVES OF POST To apply for this job, please send an up-to-date CV; a covering letter (2 pages max) or video (10 mins max) addressing the person specification and outlining your skills and experience in relation to the Essential/Desirable Criteria, along with a completed Equal Opportunities Monitoring Form to [email protected].Job Summary
