At Creative Lives we champion everyday creativity across the UK and Ireland, ensuring that voluntary groups thrive, inspire and are recognised as being essential to community wellbeing.

Our new Chief Executive will be a skilful and diplomatic convenor, collaborator and strategist, an exemplary organisational leader, and a powerful advocate for creativity as a driver of social connection and cohesion.

Job Requirements

The Chief Executive will champion the power of grassroots creativity as a driver of community wellbeing, belonging and resilience. As the lead advocate for Creative Lives, they will influence national and local policy to ensure that everyday creativity is recognised and supported by policymakers, funders and partners.

Acting as the organisation's principal ambassador, they will raise Creative Lives' profile through strategic leadership, partnerships and advocacy. Working with the Board and Senior Management Team, the Chief Executive will provide vision and direction, guiding the organisation's ambitious programme of place-based work and securing a sustainable and vibrant future for grassroots creativity across the UK and Ireland.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead the organisation's vision and strategy, ensuring delivery of the Creative Lives Strategic Plan 2024-29.
  • Work with the Board to maintain effective governance and compliance with all regulatory requirements.
  • Inspire, support and lead the Senior Management Team, enabling them to deliver their areas of work effectively and collaboratively across Place, Policy and Profile.
  • Embed Creative Lives values of equity, diversity, inclusion, environmental responsibility and Fair Work across all aspects of organisational leadership and culture.
  • Ensure succession planning, resilience and adaptability to future opportunities and challenges.
  • Position Creative Lives as the authoritative voice on grassroots creativity across the UK and Ireland.
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with funders and commissioners.
