S L Drama Academy is seeking an experienced, dynamic and inspiring freelance drama workshop leader to deliver our junior academy programme in schools across Nottingham.

£20 per hour + Ten Pounds an hour for administration duties for each session (up to £55.00 per session)

S L Drama Academy is seeking an experienced, dynamic and inspiring freelance drama workshop leader to deliver our junior academy programme in schools across Nottingham.

The successful candidate must demonstrate a passion for working with children from all socioeconomic backgrounds, be an inspiring and positive role model to the young people, bring fun and energy to all elements of the role whilst demonstrating resilience in overcoming challenges.

S L Drama Academy works in schools across the Midlands to transform children and young people's experience of learning through arts and culture. We ensure that high-quality Performing Arts is accessible to all and becomes embedded in each child's learning life, supporting and accelerating their all-round development.

The majority of workshops run after school approx. 3.15pm - 5.00pm, delivering a minimum of 2 sessions per week.

We are looking to recruit a versatile individual with a performance background and experience of delivering performance workshops to 7-11 year olds.

Job Requirements

Essential Qualities

  • Experience of single-handedly organising and leading groups of children/young people
  • Exceptional ability to devise and facilitate workshop sessions involving role-play, storytelling, drama games, improvisation, and scripted work
  • Experience of voice control and development, mime, movement and basic singing.
  • A strong passion for inspiring and being a positive influence on children from a variety of backgrounds
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to effectively manage day to day administration and communication with schools and parents
  • Driving licence and access to own transport
  • Enhanced DBS or willing to undergo an enhanced DBS check
  • Lead Facilitator 1 years' experience
  • Performing: 1 years' desirable
  • Directing Experience desirable
