We are looking for a proactive and enthusiastic Programmer to oversee, coordinate and manage our programmes delivered from our base at the Rosetta Arts Studios in West Ham, and from satellite spaces in East London.

We are looking for a proactive and enthusiastic Programmer to oversee, coordinate and manage our programmes delivered from our base at the Rosetta Arts Studios in West Ham, and from satellite spaces in East London. This includes our new Saturday programme 'Everyone is an Artist', income generating art classes, workshops, masterclasses, and free drop-in community activities.

This role will also be responsible for admin and enquiries of everything encompassed by our studios, membership schemes and events.

The programming should appeal to new generations and diverse communities

You will be the key person to help extend our networks, reach new artist educators and build our bank of collaborators.

The Programmer role is a combination of specialist programming and operational support. You will be a bridge between the two functions and, together with the Digital & Operations Officer, support the Artist Studio Manager; to ensure that our building becomes a thriving creative campus and that every income-generating aspect is covered, and operationally sound and stable.

Pro Rata of £26,500 FTE = £10,600

0.4 FTE (14 hours per week)

Will require working on some evenings and some Saturdays.

Remaining hours can be worked flexibly across the week.

1 year contract with possibility to be extended

Job Requirements

  • Experience of working as an arts project manager or creative programmer
  • Proven track record of successful project planning, project management and evaluation skills with a range of planning and project management tools.
    • Excellent admin and organisational skills
    • Strong IT literacy and knowledge of systems and programmes that support admin (including enquiries, booking, purchases, diary management, etc.)
    • Good data collection and evaluation skills and ability to write impact reports
  • Experience of setting and managing project budgets, and invoicing
  • Experience of working with a wide range of service users, across age, gender, disability, ethnicity and social background
  • Empathy and ability to positively work with people that may be neurodiverse, vulnerable or have Special Educational Needs or Disabilities (SEND)
  • Ability to be hands on in delivery and to delegate to others, including volunteers
  • Experience of HR processes such as DBS checks and contracting

Job Responsibilities

  • Continue to manage and further develop our 'Everyone is an Artist' programme on Saturdays
  • Continue to manage and further develop our creative classes and courses programme
  • Scope, develop and manage new programmes, including commercial and corporate activities
  • Manage the Rosetta Family group, comprising past participants, tutors, staff, etc.
  • Continue to build our pool of relevant artists, technicians and manage all aspects of contracting, planning, budgeting, delivery and evaluation of the activities they will deliver
  • Support the Artist Studio Manager with responding to enquiries and all admin around the artist studios, memberships and events
  • Support the building operations
  • Together with the Rosetta Arts Safeguarding Lead, be the responsible Safeguarding Officer and be responsible for event health & safety, safeguarding, risk assessments, fire marshalling and first aid, etc.
