Job Description

Rochelle is a long-established creative workspace provider in London's East End, providing studios to more than 125 creative industry professionals, some of whom are world renowned. We also host two hire spaces and a separately managed restaurant.

The Studio Support Worker is a key role in assisting the smooth running of all operations related to building and tenant management. The role is largely front-facing with the opportunity to meet and support a large range of creative professionals.

The ideal candidate will have warm, clear, and confident communication skills, ensuring a positive experience for the creative professionals in our workspaces. They should enjoy working with people and have an interest in the creative arts and some knowledge of building management (or willing to learn). They must have a very high standard of administration and organisation skills and have strong problem solving skills. Various Health Safety, SIA and First Aid courses will be provided

They will be organised, detail oriented, and able to handle sensitive data and documents professionally and with care. They will have strong time management skills and will be technically literate, familiar with MS Office and Adobe Creative Suite.

The working pattern includes a fixed weekly workday and ad hoc holiday cover throughout the year.

  • Studio hours are 9:30am to 5pm.
  • Freelance contract
  • One day fixed per week and additional ad hoc holiday cover throughout the year
  • Exposure to experienced creative industries practitioners
  • Opportunity to learn and/or improve building management skills
  • £120 - £150 per day dependent on experience

Job Requirements

Person Specification:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Highly proficient in written English
  • Experience with MS Office 365
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, in Design etc)
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Art gallery technician or similar experience is desirable
  • Handyman skills desirable but not essential
  • Willing to learn about building management

Reception & Front-facing Support

  • Provide reception and concierge duties for tenants and their visitors
  • Field and log tenant queries in person and on email
  • Manage an ID security card system
  • Co-ordinate and set-up meeting rooms
  • Respond to emergency situations according to defined protocols
  • Maintain regular and friendly tenant interactions

Building Management & Maintenance

  • Maintain site, building and tenant security
  • Undertake visual inspections of site / buildings, log all maintenance issues, inform relevant people
  • Administrative support for Annual H&S compliance testing
  • Administrative support for contractors, inc. pest control
  • Meter reading
  • Keep all areas free of excess clutter
  • Light caretaking duties, inc. minor works and cosmetic decoration

General

  • Filing and file keeping
  • Maintain office supplies
  • Manage a shared access calendar
  • Sorting incoming post and managing couriers
  • Awareness of secure data management and GDPR compliance
