In 2025, Show of Hands Festival will launch a crowdfunding campaign to generate community interest and revenue for its first year in May 2026. Our goal is to raise £35,000 when the campaign goes live in July.

Show of Hands Festival will launch in May 2026, with a crowdfunding campaign set to go live in July 2025 to raise £35,000. We are looking for an experienced Crowdfunding Manager to lead on strategy, execution, and audience engagement.

This is a key role in bringing the festival to life. We need someone with a strong track record in arts crowdfunding, a deep understanding of festival audiences, and the ability to generate public support through compelling storytelling and press engagement.

Start Date: March - July 2025

Terms: part time, remote, freelance contract

Remuneration: Fixed project fee of £1,450 plus 7-10% of the raise. OTE £3,900

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a crowdfunding strategy that builds momentum and financial backing for the festival.
  • Manage the campaign from pre-launch planning through to post-campaign follow-up, ensuring we reach (or exceed) our £35,000 target.
  • Create engaging content across written, video, and social media platforms to connect with backers, festival-goers, and the wider arts community.
  • Secure press coverage by leveraging media contacts, particularly across local and regional radio and television.
  • Work closely with the festival team to ensure the campaign aligns with the festival's brand, messaging, and artistic vision.
  • Monitor campaign performance, provide regular updates and reports, and adapt strategies based on real-time insights.
  • Respond to public queries, engage with backers, and maintain momentum throughout the campaign.

Job Requirements

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience running successful crowdfunding campaigns in the arts, music, or festival sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of crowdfunding platforms, audience engagement strategies, and best practices.
  • Understanding of the UK festival landscape, including funding challenges and audience behaviours.
  • Press and media contacts (particularly radio and television) to drive campaign visibility.
  • Strong storytelling skills - able to craft persuasive messaging that resonates with backers.
  • Confidence in handling public engagement, responding to queries, and maintaining campaign momentum.
  • A strategic, data-driven approach to tracking performance and refining tactics as needed.
