Job Summary

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Data and Analytics Lead to join our IT department on a full-time, permanent basis. Salary: £61,000 to £65,000 per annum, depending on experience

As a key strategic role reporting to the Head of IT, you will lead the development of Southbank Centre's organisational data strategy. Working collaboratively across multiple departments, you will embed a culture of data-informed decision-making and drive innovation through actionable insight. With a firm grasp of data architecture, analytics tools, and governance, you will ensure the organisation has the infrastructure and skills needed to harness data effectively, helping teams to unlock their potential and deliver meaningful impact.

What you'll do:

The successful candidate will oversee the development and implementation of scalable analytics infrastructure while leading cross-functional collaboration on data initiatives. From establishing best practice in data governance and privacy, to guiding the use of predictive modelling and AI where appropriate, your role will be central to shaping how we understand and act on our data. As well as driving forward Southbank Centre's strategic ambitions, you'll help equip teams across the organisation to make better use of data, offering training, guidance, and coaching to support a more confident, data-literate culture.

Job Requirements

  • Have experience as a data scientist and be highly analytical with a strong grasp of modern statistical methods, tools and platforms
  • Identify the data inputs and outputs are from each software solution to inform the next generation / direction of software upgrades across the organisation, including where appropriate AI integrated solutions
  • Have end to end problem solving and communication skills, including diagnosis, data cleaning, integration and transformation, analysis, visualisation and presentation.
  • Have experience in the translation of analysis results into data driven insights
  • Highly motivated, independent thinker, able to exercise sound judgement in the interests of the organisation and to get things done
  • Have experience of working in a matrixed environment and working with agile, project based methodologies
  • Demonstrable commitment to the principles of diversity and inclusion and their practical application and integration in the work environment

Job Responsibilities

  • Working with the the Head of IT and collaboratively with the Finance, Estates, Artistic, Audiences, Production and other teams to assess, implement and manage data architecture, tools, software and infrastructure to support the company's data requirements
  • Assess and develop machine learning and AI foundational capabilities
  • Ensure SC has robust data analytic capabilities, including the platforms, tools and resources to analyse and generate insights from complex data sets.
  • Ensure cross functional adoption and use of new analytics tools and platforms.
  • Working in collaboration with our General Counsel and Information Management Group to ensure all data handling processes adhere to industry best practices and legal requirements, along with robust data protection measures to safeguard sensitive information.
  • Maintain and evolve a data governance and ownership frame
  • Strong collaboration with varying functions and workstreams to identify opportunities for data-driven improvements
