Job Summary

The Deputy Director will help to drive the next stage of Havering Changing’s development, expanding its creative programme and audience reach while maintaining strong leadership across operations and evaluation.

Job Description

Leadership & Operations
Provide operational leadership for the programme, coordinating staff, freelancers and partners to ensure Havering Changing's events, workshops and projects are delivered to a high standard and supported by strong systems, planning and communication.
Lead and support the project team, line managing Event and Evaluation Assistants and working closely with Local Area Workers to create a collaborative, well-supported environment that enables staff, freelancers and community members to contribute confidently to programme delivery.
Strengthen partnerships and organisational capacity, deputising for the Project Director when required, building relationships with community organisations and strategic stakeholders, and contributing evidence and insight to support fundraising,
reporting and long-term sustainability.
Creative Programming
Develop and deliver innovative programming, including creative residencies and collaborations that connect local people with artists from across the UK and internationally, expanding the range of artistic experiences available across Havering.
Support community-led creative development, working with Change Maker groups to shape their ideas into high-quality, co-created projects that are ambitious, relevant to local communities and delivered to a professional standard.
Ensure the creative programme is values-led and well delivered, aligning projects with community insight, Creative People and Places learning and Havering Changing's strategic priorities, while maintaining strong standards of safeguarding, compliance
and ethical practice.
