Assist with planning, training and daily supervision of the WHAM Deputy and assistants; onboard new staff, deputies and covers.
Prepare, apply, maintain and style wigs, hair and make-up for rehearsals and performances.
Schedule and manage wig washing, dressing, resetting, repairs, ventilation and restyling.
Oversee facial hair, prosthetics, special effects make-up and continuity tracking as required.
Manage quick changes and backstage support, ensuring wigs and make-up are reset between shows.
Maintain wig plots, continuity bibles, face charts and maintenance schedules using Google Drive and Excel.
Track petty cash, hire agreements, consumables and departmental budgets.
Oversee inventory, storage and hygiene; coordinate suppliers, laundry and dry-cleaning services where applicable.
Follow H&S, COSHH and hygiene requirements, including safe use of adhesives, solvents, heated tools and specialist products.
Organise performer fittings, wig calls and make-up tests with the creative team.
Liaise with Design, Stage Management and Technical to support smooth show runs.
Keep backstage and performance areas operational, tidy and well presented.
Use radio/comms, cueing and venue communication systems clearly and professionally.
Follow company H&S policies in immersive and non-traditional spaces; maintain current knowledge of relevant legislation, safeguarding and industry best practice.
Report show, technical, operational and company issues promptly and accurately to department leads.
Attend production meetings and note sessions, and uphold artistic and operational standards as directed by the creative team, Production Manager and Stage Management.Job Requirements
Previous Deputy Head of Wardrobe credits on comparable scale projects.
Confident sewing, dressing and fabric care abilities.
Cool head when juggling multiple changeovers.
Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
Keen to work as part of a busy team in the launch of a new production and new venue
Calm, proactive and adaptable within fast-moving audience-interactive settings.
Strong communicator with the ability to follow instructions accurately and relay information clearly.
Good working knowledge of backstage procedures and Health & Safety practice.
