Job Summary

BADA is looking for 1 ASM's to join us for this Spring 2026's season of shows. BADA, the British American Drama Academy, is a drama school based in Gloucester Gate, London and this season's productions are three Shakespeare Apocrypha plays to be staged in April at the Playground Theatre in London.

Job Description

BADA is looking for one DSM to join us for this Spring 2026's season. BADA, the British American Drama Academy, is a drama school based in Gloucester Gate, London and this season's productions are four classic plays to be staged at the Playground Theatre.

Dates are:

13 March Production and first meet with Directors & Cast

23 March - 17 April rehearsals at BADA, 10am to 6pm.

19 - 24 April rehearsals in the venue plus showcase/final performances in the second week at the theatre. Rehearsal are daytimes (10am -6pm) at BADA and daytimes at The Playground. The venue schedule is being finalised, but 1 day of technical rehearsals, 3 days of dress rehearsals and performances. (Approximately 1-2 days of 10am to 10pm, observing mandatory breaks.)

BADA ensures that everyone works within the National Minimum Wage Legislation.

The fee is approximately £600 per week over the five weeks with a day rate for the director's meet and greet.

Each of the shows will have its own professional theatre director, with a supporting production team, of which the DSMs play a pivitol role. You will work on one show and lead rehearsal planning and work closely with the Director of your show and prepare the book for operating the show. The production team, led by the production manager, will provide support in realising each play's set, props, costume and technical needs and you will work closely with them as part of a small and tight-knit team.

This role will suit someone who enjoy working in small teams, is efficient and a good communicator.
