The successful candidate will need to demonstrate strong technical experience across Lighting, Sound and AV. Customer service and communication skills are key for this role, as you will liaise closely with producers, artists and suppliers. Good technical problem solving skills. Practical experience of equipment maintenance and PAT testing. Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills with people at all levels. Excellent attention to detail, planning and organisational skills. Experience of technical theatre at the design level Confident team-player with the ability to train and inspire other members of the technical team. Motivated, pro-active and calm under pressure. Assist the Technical Manager to ensure the smooth running of the Redgrave Theatre and support Clifton College's Performing Arts offering. Deputising in their absence. Ensure all work is safe and complies with current health and safety legislation and venue policies. Assist the Technical Manager with the delivery of in-house training for casual members of the technical team. Foster good working relationships with external contractors and suppliers, seeking out competitive deals for hires and equipment, upon request of the Technical Manager. Carry out periodic facility inspections, including but not exclusive to: fire alarm call point tests, first aid kit checks and lamp rounds. Log and report and issues using the in-house estates system. Play an active role in theatre upgrades and improvements. Oversee, design and/or operate various aspects of technical theatre for Clifton College productions.
