Description
Towner is seeking a talented Development Manager who will play an important part in growing Towner’s income from individuals, trusts and foundations and companies.
The Development Manager plays an important role in growing Towner's philanthropic and grant income from individuals, trusts and foundations and companies to support Towner's expanding programme. You will manage a portfolio of donors and funders ensuring that they are actively engaged and recognised in a bespoke and systematic way.
We are seeking an accomplished communicator with excellent written and inter-personal skills. You will have experience of arts or charity fundraising where you have had to use clear, persuasive language to present convincing and compelling cases for support for proposals or campaigns. We welcome applications from those who can demonstrate they possess transferable skills, abilities and experience gained from different sectors.
Fundraising
- Research, plan and write compelling proposals to secure four and five figure grants from trusts and foundations for learning and engagement, exhibitions, collection and acquisitions.
- Manage a portfolio of mid and higher level donors including delivering the donor stewardship programme.
- Create a pipeline of prospective donors in collaboration with the Audience Development Manager for cultivation and engagement.
- Deliver mass participation fundraising initiatives such as appeals and crowdfunding campaigns working with the Development Assistant.
- Support the Director of Development in researching and drafting major bids.
- Work with the Director of Development and other colleagues to creatively identify fundable areas of programme and activity.
- Take an active role in expanding Towner's networks of advocates, influencers and supporters.
Donor stewardship
- Monitor and evaluate projects producing donor/funder impact reports in a timely manner to encourage additional and future giving
- Deliver stewardship events including dinners, receptions, in-person and digital talks, visits to artist studios and private collections
- Ensure delivery of gift and sponsorship agreements including accurate supporter acknowledgement, branded accreditation etc
Communication and Liaison
- Be an ambassador for Towner with donors, members, prospective supporters and other key influencers and advocates.
- Create & manage VIP and key contact guest/mailing lists for event invitations and key communications working closely with Marketing & Communications.
- Liaise closely with colleagues across the organisation to ensure excellent supporter communications
Finance and Data Administration
- Maintain and improve Spektrix CRM processes that relate to the supporter experience (member accounts, purchasing etc),
