A. Member of the Academic Board
- As a member of the Academic Board and in conjunction with the Principal, ensure that the highest artistic and academic standards are maintained.
- With regular meeting of the Academic Board, ensure the smooth running of the school.
- Collectively with the Bursar and Principal define the spending priorities of the school and ensure financial prudence.
- Member of the Strategic Plan working party.
- Attend termly School Council meetings as staff guest.

B. Member of the Student Bursary Committee

C. Director of the Diploma Course in Portraiture
- Be responsible for the design and development of course structure and content.
- Recruit a suitable calibre of teaching staff to deliver the course and monitor their teaching.
- Recruit and interview potential students.
- Oversee the termly assessment process of the course and supervise final assessment process for the award of Diploma in Portraiture.
- Be responsible for and organise the Annual Exhibition of the work of Portrait Diploma students.
- Collaborate with the marketing manager to promote and market the Diploma course.
- Your duties will be appraised annually by the Principal.
- Implement the school's Health and Safety policy.

Teaching Duties: There are no set timetable lessons but you will be expected to play an active role teaching some segments of the course in each Diploma year. The current tutor rate will be paid.

Person Specification

We are now looking for the next Director of the Portrait Diploma who will also be a member of the Academic Board. We invite applications from those who believe they have the academic vision and administrative expertise needed to guide the Heatherley Diploma Course in Portraiture. You should be able to demonstrate a commitment to the genre of Portraiture and your ability to offer positive support to the diversity of our students who represent a wide range of ages, abilities and backgrounds.
Hours: 7 hours per week / 42 weeks per annum.
