Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Outreach and Support Officer to oversee the welfare and safeguarding of displaced children attending BRIT Kids.

Job Description

The Outreach and Support Officer will be responsible for engaging with displaced children and their families. This will involve outreach activities, such as visiting local hotels where the families reside and acting as the first point of contact. You will guide families through the process of enrolling in BRIT Kids, providing support throughout their journey.

This role also involves trauma-informed training, where the Officer will initially undergo training themselves and later assist in guiding teaching staff through the process. You will be the go-to person for families on Saturdays, building strong relationships of trust and ensuring the children's well-being and engagement with the programme.

Job Responsibilities

Welfare and Safeguarding:

  • Ensure the welfare and safeguarding of children enrolled in the BRIT Kids programme.
  • Act as the primary contact for children and their families, addressing any concerns or needs.

Trauma-Informed Support:

  • Complete trauma-informed training and assist in guiding teaching staff through the training.
  • Lead and provide ongoing support for staff to implement trauma-informed practices.

Outreach and Recruitment:

  • Conduct outreach activities to identify and engage displaced children and families.
  • Visit local hotels where families are residing and provide information about the BRIT Kids programme.
  • Guide families through the registration process and facilitate their participation in the programme.

Family Engagement and Support:

  • Organize and lead meetings with families to ensure they feel supported and connected to the programme.
  • Host group workshops to help children acclimate to their new surroundings and integrate into the BRIT Kids community.
