We are seeking experienced drama & theatre educators to join our family to help enrich and transform children's learning in mainstream schools. We offer excellent rates of pay, initial training and support. As we enter our 25th year we are excited to work with the next generation of change makers.

We are seeking vibrant, passionate performers/workshop leaders who can help transform classrooms & school halls into fun, arts-fuelled environments where children can express themselves safely, helping them to grow and achieve.

Schools face increasing challenges. Through our work you will help children to:

  • Improve their mental health & wellbeing
  • Increase their school attendance rates and positive attitudes to learning
  • Develop important key life skills such as confidence, self-esteem, empathy.
  • Build on their social and interpersonal skills.
  • Actively participate in opportunities to experience high quality arts

Additionally, the number of children with neuro-divergent conditions, many undiagnosed, is rising and you have a part to play to help them realise their potential regardless of barriers to learning.

Quick facts

  • Pay: £140-£190 a day based on programme and activities delivered.
  • Type of contract: Self employed contract for services.
  • Induction: Free Safeguarding & Child Protection training and paid for induction training.
  • Locations: Mainly London with options to travel further afield.
  • Hours: Part-time, Monday to Friday, 8.30am-3.30pm school term time only.

Hours worked can vary based on your availability at the time of being offered a contract for services.

Job Requirements

Essential:

  • Experience working with children aged 4-11
  • Experience of performing
  • Confident behaviour management skills
  • A desire to help make a positive difference to children's lives

Preferable:

  • Experience working with young people aged 12-16
  • Experience of performing to children
  • Experience in creating lesson plans

Job Responsibilities

What will you be doing?

  • Planning and leading performing arts-based lessons on a weekly basis to whole classes.
  • Targeted intervention work with smaller groups, including those with special educational needs.
  • Deliver Ad-Hoc performance-based assemblies & drama workshops around tackling issues such as bullying, knife crime, racism & diversity.
  • Theatre skills-based masterclasses
