We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Draughtsperson to join the Royal Ballet and Opera Scenic Construction team at the Bob and Tamar Manoukian Production Workshop, our purpose built state-of-the-art 3750 sq. metre building in Purfleet, Essex.

Full time: 42.5 hours per week

Salary: £44,714.88 per annum

Based in: Bob and Tamar Manoukian Production Workshop, Purfleet, Essex

The Royal Ballet and Opera is home to three of the world`s great performing art companies: The Royal Ballet, The Royal Opera, and the Orchestra of the Royal Opera House. We aspire to produce great art, telling stories that can speak to universal themes that move us.

We currently have an exciting opportunity to join the Royal Ballet and Opera Scenic Construction team at the Bob and Tamar Manoukian Production Workshop, our purpose built state-of-the-art 3750 sq. metre building in Purfleet, Essex. The site contains a scenic construction carpentry workshop, metal workshop, paint studio and fit up area, enabling us to make scenery for the Royal Opera and Royal Ballet companies.

We are seeking to appoint an experienced Draughtsperson to support in the realisation and production of scenery for opera and ballet productions at the Royal Ballet and Opera.

Job Requirements

This role will suit a candidate who can demonstrate strong creative crafting skills within a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience of draughting in a theatre environment (Desirable)
  • Knowledge of structural engineering and construction in a large-scale environment.
  • Advanced user of AutoCAD/Inventor 3D Modelling
  • Experience of working positively with designers
  • Strong relationship management skills and clear communicator with a proactive approach to communication.
  • Collaborative approach to working
