Job Title: Early Years Classroom Support - Art Camp (Leeds & York)

Position Details:

  • Location: Leeds (starting in February 2025) and York
  • Availability: School holidays only - perfect if you're looking for a seasonal role

About the Role:

As an Early Years Classroom Support team member, you'll assist our experienced practitioners in delivering exciting, age-appropriate activities for children ages 4-6. You'll help create a welcoming environment, support children in exploring art and play, and ensure everyone has a safe, memorable time.

What We're Looking For:

  • Knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and a commitment to providing developmentally appropriate support.
  • Experience working with children ages 4-6, with a focus on fostering a safe, nurturing, and fun environment.
  • First Aid and Safeguarding Certification (or willingness to obtain training for the right candidate).

Job Requirements

  • Experience in Early Years: Familiarity with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and a strong commitment to fostering a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children aged 4-6.
  • First Aid Certification: Valid First Aid certification is required. Training can be provided for the right candidate.
  • Safeguarding Knowledge: Understanding of safeguarding policies and procedures is essential, with a proactive commitment to maintaining child safety and well-being.
  • Creative and Engaging: A passion for art and creativity, with the ability to engage young children in hands-on, imaginative activities that inspire and encourage self-expression.
  • Teamwork and Communication Skills: Ability to work collaboratively with other practitioners and communicate effectively with children, parents, and team members.
  • Reliability and Punctuality: Consistent and reliable attendance, with punctuality essential to maintaining a smooth and supportive environment.
  • Seasonal Availability:

Job Responsibilities

  • Support Activity Leaders: Assist in setting up, leading, and cleaning up after creative activities, ensuring all materials are safe and age-appropriate.
  • Ensure Child Safety: Prioritize child safety and well-being at all times, adhering to safeguarding protocols and maintaining a vigilant, proactive approach.
  • Provide First Aid: Administer first aid as necessary and respond quickly to any minor injuries or incidents, following established procedures.
  • Promote Engagement: Encourage children to participate and express themselves through art, creating an inclusive, supportive environment for all abilities.
  • Assist with Transitions: Help children transition smoothly between activities, lunch, and playtime, ensuring they feel comfortable and engaged.
  • Communicate with Parents: Provide friendly updates to parents as needed, offering reassurance and information about their child's day.
