Job Summary

Join us as a Junior Education Coordinator to deliver engaging, curriculum-based workshops for schools and community groups. Lead interactive sessions, handle replica artifacts, and contribute to new educational content aboard our historic ship. A unique opportunity to grow in the heritage sector.

Job Description

We are looking for a Junior Education Coordinator who will play a pivotal role in delivering The Golden Hinde's educational programmes, primarily for schools and community groups.

Working within a small, dynamic team, you will facilitate engaging, curriculum-aligned workshops that inspire children and young people to think critically and imaginatively about history. This includes leading interactive sessions, handling replica artifacts, and delivering workshops in period costume for younger audiences. Over time, you will also contribute to the development of new educational content and experiences.

The role requires working five days onsite (Monday-Friday) plus one weekend out of every four weekends. Please note that The Golden Hinde is a unique historic site, which involves working in a quasi-outdoor environment where temperatures and weather conditions may vary. The position also requires handling heavy objects, such as educational props and equipment, as well as moving around the ship, which includes climbing stairs and navigating confined spaces.

This is an exciting time to join our team as we develop the museum, offering a unique and engaging work environment aboard a historic ship with opportunities for professional growth within the heritage and cultural sector.

If you are an organised, proactive individual passionate about education - whether you're just starting out or seeking to advance your career - then this is the role for you!
Salary: £25,000-£27,000 per annum, depending on experience.

The Golden Hinde is an equal opportunities employer and welcomes applications from all sections of the community.
