Job Summary

National Youth Theatre are looking for an Education Producer to lead our engagement and build our education practice across the UK.

Job Description

Productions, Projects and Programmes:
Develop strategic and scalable schools programmes, projects and initiatives. Build and manage school relationships and programmes including teacher CPD, in-school delivery programmes and opportunities for teacher engagement.
Develop Education Packs for all NYT shows and ongoing resources for all teachers to support drama delivery within the curricula and beyond, building online resources for teachers including NYT ensemble script shows for classes.
Support programming alongside the Head of Communications and Digital for online content (NYT's HUB platform), ensuring programming meets target user needs.
Support and grow attendance by education groups at NYT performances and co-productions in our Workshop Theatre, in the West End, on tour and through National partnerships.
Work across the breadth of the education sector including mainstream, non-mainstream, primary, secondary, alternative provision and Further Education Colleges, supporting all education bodies to access the NYT offer.
Develop NYT's education opportunities, programme design and seeding new ideas and R&D for bringing projects to market. From online learning, to NYT Accreditation and Certification and beyond.
Schools, Teacher CPD and Resources, Career Pathways and Continuing Opportunities:
Work with the NYT Auditions & Courses team on NYT's national programme of Schools Auditions, building relationships and engagement and providing continuity and progression opportunities post audition.
Develop, design and enable delivery of programmes designed for Enrichment for children and young people, alongside maximising NYT's programme alignment to the curricula.
Support career pathways and skills development events and awareness in schools, creating online resources for pupils, teachers, careers advisors and support workers.

Job Requirements

Essential
A theatre or drama producer or educator with a breadth of experience within the creative or cultural sector
At least four years' experience in a creative role within education or in the creative sector
Significant experience leading education and participation
programmes in a range of settings and with different year groups
Proven experience managing budgets for income and expenditure to targets
Proven experience managing freelancers and volunteers
Effective project management/producing skills
Effective strategic working driving campaigns from short to long term
Direct experience working creatively with young people
Deep understanding of inclusive youth arts practice and equitable
delivery
Strong partnership development and external-facing capability
Effective organisational, communication and presentation skills
Ability to manage and support multiple collaborators and priorities under pressure
Strategic thinking combined with a growth mindset
