Job Summary

Working within student support, we are seeking a student-focused individual committed to supporting students to enhance their English for Academic Purposes, enabling to support our international community in achieving their full potential.

Job Description

You will work and liaise with academic and other staff to support students' academic and learning experiences. You will be an active partner in the student's learning and progression, contributing to the regular review of the support given to your students and attending and contributing to team meetings.

Educated to degree level, you will have previous experience of Higher Education and the needs of arts-based students and awareness of supporting a range of learning needs. You will be an excellent communicator with strong organisational skills.

Job Requirements

You will be providing small group and one-to-one support to students who need further support in their studies across the Undergraduate and Postgraduate programmes. You must have
experience in supporting student where English is not a first language and international students studying with higher education.

Job Responsibilities

1. Teaching and Learning Delivery
Plan and deliver EAP lessons focused on academic skills (e.g., essay writing, critical reading, listening to lectures, seminar participation).
Adapt teaching approaches to diverse student cohorts (often international students with varying proficiency levels).
Integrate academic conventions such as referencing, argumentation, and disciplinespecific language.
Use a range of teaching methods (lectures, workshops, tutorials, blended/online learning).
Provide detailed, constructive feedback on language use, structure, and academic skills.
2. Curriculum Development and Materials Design
Design and update EAP curricula aligned with programme outcomes and institutional requirements.
Create teaching materials, assessments, and learning resources tailored to academic study contexts.
Ensure content reflects current academic practices and supports transition into higher education.
