Herefordshire Museums & Galleries is seeking an experienced evaluation consultant to lead the evaluation of Revealing Our Roots - a multi-phase, community engagement project supported by the Esm e Fairbairn Collections Fund. This freelance contract offers the chance to shape a creative, participatory approach to evaluation that places community experience at its core. Key deliverables - Design an inclusive evaluation strategy tailored to a community-driven heritage project. - Develop tools and materials to help staff and partners integrate evaluation into delivery. - Gather and analyse both qualitative and quantitative data across the project lifecycle. - Produce a final report capturing outcomes, learning, and best practice. What we're looking for We welcome expressions of interest from consultants with: - Demonstrable experience of evaluating participatory, community or creative projects - ideally within museums, heritage, or cultural learning. - A commitment to inclusive, user-centred evaluation approaches. - Understanding of heritage, place-based engagement, or cultural learning contexts. We welcome applications from individuals with lived experience or under-represented backgrounds. No formal qualifications are required, but please provide clear evidence of your approach and relevant previous work.
