This is a flexible, part-time role, well suited to someone who enjoys working with people and is comfortable juggling front-of-house and light retail/admin tasks. Hours: Evening shifts (4:00 PM - 7:00 PM) and/or weekend shifts (10:00 AM - 5:00 PM), agreed with you in advance. Minimum of 1 shift per week. Pay: £14.80/hour, paid monthly on the 14th for the previous month's confirmed shifts. Engagement type: Self-employed contractor. You handle your own tax/NI, and holiday pay isn't included. What You'll Be Doing: Full training on shift procedures is provided as part of onboarding. Greeting families and students warmly as they arrive for lessons and classes
Answering basic questions from walk-ins and directing them appropriately
Keeping the shop floor tidy and free of hazards
Supporting retail stock management and sales
Logging any relevant notes or issues for the admin team
Carrying out end-of-shift lockdown procedures for evening shifts (securing rooms, lights, heaters, and the building)
A warm, approachable manner with families, students, and colleagues
Reliability - once a shift is confirmed, we need to know we can count on you (at least 2 weeks' notice if you can't make a confirmed shift)
Comfort with basic retail/admin systems (training provided)
A smart-casual, professional presentation for a customer-facing role
