The Event Site Operative is a site-based role focused on the practical setup, operation and pack-down of event infrastructure. Working under the direction of the Event Manager, you will take responsibility for ensuring the site is built correctly, runs safely, and remains well-maintained throughout delivery. The role involves a wide range of on-the-ground tasks, including installation of equipment, movement and positioning of infrastructure, vehicle coordination, and supporting safe and efficient crowd flow. You will also act as a visible and approachable presence on site, dealing with the public, traders and stakeholders in a professional manner. You will be trusted to work independently, often as the sole site operative on smaller events, taking initiative to resolve issues and keep the site running smoothly without requiring constant direction. This role is central to ensuring that events are delivered safely, efficiently, and to a high standard, enabling the Event Manager to focus on overall event coordination and delivery. £180 per event day. Approximately 10 hours per week. You will be a practical and reliable individual who is comfortable taking ownership of on-site delivery within a live events environment. You are hands-on, organised and confident working independently, while collaborating closely with the wider event team. You are comfortable taking responsibility without close supervision and can operate calmly and effectively in a fast-paced, live event setting. You will bring: Work in line with event health and safety requirements, including risk assessments and safety procedures. Support the Event Manager with on-site delivery. Support safe setup and operation of infrastructure including staging, power, lighting, fencing, gazebos and welfare facilities.
Follow safe working practices, including cable management, securing equipment, and keeping walkways clear.
Assist with coordinating traders, suppliers and contractors during setup and breakdown.
Maintain a visible, approachable presence, engaging with the public and stakeholders professionally.
Carry out routine duties including litter picking and keeping the site clean and presentable.
Communicate issues, delays or risks clearly and promptly.
