Job Summary

We're looking for an individual with experience in event planning to support our Events Manager, to make a real impact across a variety of events, ensuring their success while supporting the vibrant brass band community.

Job Description

The Events and Communications Coordinator (Maternity Cover) will experience an exciting and dynamic role, playing a key part in delivering a range of high-profile projects from brass contests to the annual Brass Band Conference.

They'll be involved in all aspects of project delivery, managing tasks such as:

  • Inbox and phone communications
  • Creating and distributing information packs
  • Updating the website
  • Liaising with artists and venues
  • Coordinating internal and external communications

It will be a requirement to attend events in-person across the country. Key dates and locations:

  • Bold as Brass Contest: 7 June 2025, National Coal Mining Museum, Wakefield
  • Youth Fest: 4 July 2025, artdepot, London
  • Brass Band Conference: 27th September 2025, Redhills, Durham
  • Brass in Concert Championships: 14 - 17 November 2025, Glasshouse International Centre for Music, Gateshead
  • Youth Champs: 28 March 2026, Birmingham

This role offers a unique opportunity to make a real impact across a variety of events, ensuring their success while supporting the vibrant brass band community.

Office space is available at our HQ in Barnsley. Remote or hybrid working is suitable for this role, with a requirement to be in the office approximately once a quarter for full team meetings and in the run up to events.

Job Requirements

  • Experience in updating websites
  • Experience of arts, community or education project delivery
  • Research skills
  • An ability to plan and prioritise to tight deadlines
  • Ad hoc administrative tasks as required
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Efficient written and verbal communication skills

Job Responsibilities

The key tasks responsibilities for this role are:

  • Supporting event management
  • Research suitable venues
  • Collect feedback
  • Provide on-the-day event support
  • Provide excellent customer service to audience and participants of BBE events
  • Compile delegate and audience lists
  • Working closely with the marketing department
  • Liaise with key artists, bands and stakeholders on projects and events
